want a cordless finish nailer, how difficult to use?
Aug 25, 2007 by Aaron | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
looking at a dewalt 18volt 16 guideline finish nailer is it easily used and how well do the nails hold and do they look acceptable for finish work, and how often do they have problems like jamming etc. thanks.
They are acquiescent to use and usually convenient. All nail guns can jam. The cordless finish nailers work pretty well. The framing nailers are too lackadaisical, in my opinion, for any big job (sheathing especially).
If you think you

The hinterland with the quality Dewalt and you you will be good to go. They will hold well, you may have to adjust it for the type of wood you are using. This way you are forlorn them all the way, but not shooting them right through the wood. Practice on scrap

Can I use a finish nailer with a large compressor?
Oct 18, 2007 by Steve Z | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
I am redoing most of the barber in my house, and would like to use an air nailer. I have a regular shop compressor. Is the only advantage to a small pancake compressor the portability? Once the spiffy is done I don't think I'd use the compact compressor
I very recently finished my trim work and I used my shop compressor, it worked fine by a hair's breadth lower the regulator to 85 or 90 psi for pine and 100 for hard wood like maple or oak.

Can I install hardwood floor (3/4" tongue & groove) with a finish nailer or should i rent/buy a tongue nailer?
Jan 22, 2008 by Jim W | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
**A cohort who is helping me has an air compressor and several pneumatic nailers, but not a "specific" tongue & slot hardwood nailer. (You know the one where you hit it with the mallet...) Installing 500 Sq/ft. Can just a stable nailer
You uncommonly need a flooring nailer for this. Doesn't really need to be pneumatic. It would be easier, but 500 sf would not be too bad for a guide nailer.
Proper nail placement is important for flooring. It needs to go in at an angle
