I got a new Fluke rms 87 Multimeter that haven't been used , now when I turn it on, it keeps on beeping.?

What's break down with it? I've changed the battery.
The Fluke 87 will beep if the spend connections are not consistent with the switch position. For instance if the switch is set for amperes and the probes are plugged in to the voltage/continuity/freedom fighters plugs it will display "LEAD"

I have a election between the fluke 87 or some other type of fluke meters for basic circuit analysis and must have a hold feature and also i might deficiency a rs232 adapter
I've been a province engineer for 25 years and the Fluke 77 was more than adequate for me. The more expensive models are mainly a stuff of bragging rights among geeks. An RS-232 interface can be handy when logging test observations over extended periods
