How much does a digital multimeter start?

I am alluring an electonics class and I need a digital multimeter and I need to know how much they start. I just need a uninvolved one not an expensive one. So how much do they go for.
I've seen companys giving them away for unburden to engineers just for sending in a card.
If you go down to Fry's they are in the $20 to $100+ range.

I dire a digital multimeter/ammeter for my electrical courses. I need a meter that measures AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current. It's been suggested that I get a fasten together on meter, but is there one with leads and a clamp? I'm trying to stay under $300,
Fortuity is a very good brand.
fluke 330 series is below $300 and almost all clamps have also leads.
But do you definitely need a clamp to measure high currents?

I got a evaluation of 2.0 on my digital multimeter when testing a capacitor using the 200u setting under the DCA section. What does that vile? There is also 2000u, 20m and 200m. Whats the difference in "u" and "m"?
DCA is seemingly DC amps, and you cannot measure a capacitor on that setting.
2000m is actually 2000 mA current full scale or 2 amps
200m is really 200 mA current full scale or 0.2 amps
20m is actually 20 mA current full
