Paul, unless it's been built to have dual power, dropping the voltage of the air compressor motor to 110 from 220 may have some issues with the compressor's purpose.

I'm not an electrician and as such, am not in the feeling of providing wiring counsel.

I've posted this so that a guest can put up for sale guidance if they have it for you.
