Do you have any gift ideas for a power tool or woodworking tool for my husband who already has many tools?
Dec 04, 2007 by WhiteDove | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
He has several types of big saws, and all the petty power tools-drills, dremels (sp?), power sanders and the like. He is good at woodworking, but I don't think he has many woodworking prototype tools. Any guy or girl out there who enjoys working with
Decent an opinion; but as a male; especially one who enjoys tools; I have a suggestion.
To really make it a more personal acquaintance, and one both of you can share in; why not determine an amount you can spend; and spend the time being

How hard it is to build furniture without using power tools?
May 25, 2008 by Keri | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
My mate wants to know. He's interested in trying this out as a hobby and now I'm curious. What types of tools would you need? How obstructive would it be? Is it much different than building with power tools?
It's very uncompromising, but not impossible. He will need several saws (rip, cross cut, coping), a brace with bits, planes (bung up, jack, jointing, rabbeting), possibly a spoke shave, VERY sharp knives, chisels, etc. It's a wonderful hobby though.

Shredding garden waste will speed composting
01.09.10
Example summer and fall is sure to bring a larger amount of discarded garden and vista debris. At times this mountainous pile of branches, vines, stems, vile fruits and the like may seem overwhelming. While there is often a municipal pickup in cities, villages and towns, it makes salubrious gardening sense and land stewardship to recycle much of this vegetation discard to strengthen the soil for next year through composting and the creation of mulch.
All too often, I hear the comment that handling garden annihilate is difficult, or that placing this material in a compost pile or bin is too bulky for the compost modify. As one home gardener said, “It takes the proverbial ‘two men and a mule’ to attend the compost!”
A remedy is to reduce this organic material into smaller pieces. A tree division is easily reduced to a pile of mulch-ready material. Vegetative kill from the vegetable
